As always, the health and safety of all our participants is our top priority. Hockey will return to WRAHL for the 2021-22 Winter Season.
We continue to monitor updates from the City of Calgary, Alberta Health Services (AHS), the Alberta Government, and the Canadian Government. Pending any changes, we will respond and act in accordance with the latest recommendations.
It is each participants responsibility to be aware and follow the current provincial restrictions regarding COVID-19 and its relation to participating in organized sports. All participants are encouraged to monitor the AHS website for the most up to date information.

Please refer to the published Rules & Regulations for current impacts to the WRAHL gameplay and player requirements.
The province announced its plan to remove health
measures in the province in three steps. As has been our approach throughout
the pandemic, we aligned health measures in our league with the direction and
guidance provided by the government with the goal of keeping our players on the
ice.
The mandatory indoor mask requirement will be lifted on Tuesday,
March 1st. However, the City of Calgary still has a Bylaw for
the mandatory indoor mask requirement.
We acknowledge that comfort levels with this change. We ask
for your understanding and patience as we all adjust to health measures
beginning to lift in the province.
Effective immediately, the requirement to declare
vaccination status, show proof of immunization or recent negative rapid tests
is no longer required.
We thank all of our participants for their continued support
in following the measures that remain in place as we continue to provide safe
and healthy environments for our game to continue.
Late Friday, Alberta Health Services announced a change to their daily health checklists. Please follow the link to the updated list. Please help support keeping our League safe an open by reviewing the checklist each day and staying home when sick and accessing testing if symptoms develop.
As of November 15, 2021, all participants entering facilities will need to show a QR code as proof of vaccination. The previous records, including those issued at the time of vaccination and saved from MyHealth Records, will no longer count as valid proof.
Alternatively, at some facilities, proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of service is also permitted.
Update: October 21, 2021
Important dates are approaching for particpants awareness. As per
AHS requirements:
- Vaccination
proof changes on October 25, 2021. More information can be found here.
- November
16, 2021, only only a print-out or screenshot of vaccine record with QR
code will be accepted.
Update: September 18, 2021
On September 15, 2021, the Alberta Government advised of new restrictions. Businesses were offered a choice of two options effective September 20, 2021; implement the Restrictions Exemption Program requiring proof of vaccination or negative test result to continue operating as usual, or follow business capacity and operating restrictions (Indoor group classes and activities are not permitted).
As a result, and in order for hockey to continue in its current form, WRAHL will implement the Restrictions Exemption Program and require all participants to provide a statement with respect to their COVID-19 vaccination status. All players are required to complete the Vaccine Attestation form.
