The NDP recently called for a royal commission on violence in sports. Do you think the game of hockey is too violent?

Not at all.
It's a violent sport but the level is accepted by its participants.

The WRAHL's annual All-Star game.  Representatives from each team will play a game for enjoyment and encourage a fellowship among its players. Prizes and gifts will be awarded.


Where & When

  • The 2007/08 WRAHL All-Star Game will be played at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Feb 12, 2007.
    • Game #1 will start at 6:45pm
    • Game #2 will start at 9:15pm
  • Players and spectators will enter and exit through the North side of the building. Please see attached map for location.

The Players

  • Each team will submit one player to participate in the game.
  • All other players will be selcted by the League
  • Goaltenders will be assigned by the League based on statistics.

The All-Star Game

  • The All-Star game will consist of 2-30 minute runtime periods. Each goalie will play 1 period.  1 Referee, 2 linesmen and a time keeper will attend.

Hardest Shot Competition

  • ** Not available for the 2007/08 Season **

Shootout Competition

  • A shootout competition will take place and be based on elimination until a winner has been decided. 
  • Shooters will be decided by the team.

Fastest Skater Competition (Time permitting)

  • Two players will skate around the ice for a full rotation
  • If a pylon is hit, that player will be disqualified

Rules & Regulations

  • Standard WRAHL Rules and Regulations regarding gameplay will reman the same.
  • Ice rental participants and spectators, guests assume all risks and dangers of personal injury and other hazards arising from or related to, in any way, whether occurring prior to, during or after the booking period.
  • Consumption of alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
  • Dressing rooms are available one half hour before and one half hour after booking.
  • Spectators must remain behind the players bench and not permitted elsewhere. 
  • Washrooms facilities for specators are located to the right of the Security/Shippers office.

We encourage all teammates, friends and family to attend to cheer on and support your players!
